Rattlers Acquire Syracuse Product Brett Bucktooth from Boston

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rattlers announced that they have acquired midfielder Brett Bucktooth from the Boston Cannons for the eighth-overall pick in today's 2008 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft.
Bucktooth is in his third season of professional lacrosse. This season, he played in one game with Boston and posted a goal and one assist against Rochester last Friday. In 2007, the midfielder recorded 22 goals and seven assists.
He joined the Cannons after being drafted in the second round of the 2006 draft. The Syracuse native played his college lacrosse at Syracuse University (2003-2006). He won a national championship in 2004 and was a Second Team All-American in 2006 and an Honorable Mention All-American in 2005.
In 2008, he won his first National Lacrosse League championship with the Buffalo Bandits. Bucktooth also won a silver medal with the Iroquois Nationals at the 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. Further, he was a member of the Iroquois team at the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championship.
With the deal, the Rattlers now have four picks in tonight's MLL Collegiate Draft. The five-round Collegiate Draft features the elite college lacrosse players from the Class of 2008 and will be aired live on ESPN-U at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Rattlers will hold a Major League Lacrosse Draft Party at Nathaniel's Pub (251 Exchange St.) at 7:30 p.m. Members of the Venom Dance Team and Rattler players Joe Walters and Pat Dutton will attend the event. Rattlers merchandise and tickets will be raffled off throughout the evening.
The Rattlers host the two-time defending champion Philadelphia Barrage on Saturday, May 31st at 7:30 p.m. at PAETEC Park. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and ESPN360.com. The contest will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Channel 26).
Prior to each Rattlers home game, Foodlink, along with Bud Light, will present the official pregame party with live music and entertainment. Hot Daddy Rocks, formerly Lever Down, will perform live before the Rattlers' home opener.
