Hoboken, NJ (May 28, 2008) -The Chicago Machine and the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, have come to terms on a deal which will give the Cannons the first overall pick in this evening's MLL Collegiate Draft, according to MLL Commissioner David Gross.

In exchance, the Chicago Machine will receive the Cannons' fourth and sixth overall selections. Additionally, the Cannons have traded their eighth overall pick to the Machine in exchange for attackman Sean Morris.

Boston had acquired the 8th overall pick earlier this morning when they traded midfielder Brett Bucktooth to the Rochester Rattlers.

Sean Morris was a first round 2006 draft pick by the Chicago Machine. He played in all of Chicago's 2006 and 2007 games for which he was eligible. In 2007 he was Chicago's assist leader and was second in points scored by Chicago players behind only Kevin Leveille.

This is the first time that the Cannons will select first overall in the MLL Collegiate Draft. Last year, Chicago selected Pat Heim with the first overall selection in the 2007 Collegiate Draft.

Counting the first overall selection in tonight's eighth annual collegiate draft, the Cannons possess a total of four selections in what has been referred to as the deepest draft class in MLL history.

Chicago now has a total of three picks in the first round, and seven overall.

The 2008 MLL Collegiate Draft is taking place at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, tonight at 8:30 PM and will air live on ESPNU.
