Rascals Split Doubleheader vs. Chillicothe

River City Rascals News Release


River City erupted for 13 runs and 15 hits in the opening game of a doubleheader vs. Chillicothe, as they defeated them 13-6.

Bryan Weiss opened the scoring with a grand slam in the 1st inning, while Brian Hopkins and Matt Gecan added homers for River City.

Dan Krines pitched 5 1/3 innings for his 1st win as a professional.

In the nightcap, Wes Jaillet threw three wild pitches in the 7th to allow Chillicothe to score the go-ahead runs to defeat River City 8-7.

With the split, the Rascals are now 11-14 on the season heading into Sunday's doubleheader against Chillicothe. Mike Rhue and Brad Glassco will start for the Rascals in the doubleheader.
