
Rascals Put Away CornBelters Late

River City Rascals News Release
Normal, Ill. - The Rascals scored eight runs in the final three innings to pull away from Normal for an 11-3 win behind Chad Maddox who finished a triple shy of the cycle.
River City (37-15) fell behind 2-0 after the first but a run in the third followed by a lead-off homerun from Joash Brodin in the fourth tied the game at two.
River City starter Erick Carillo gave up the two early runs in 6 1/3 innings, spreading out eight hits with six strikeouts en-route to his first win with River City.
The Rascals took a 3-2 lead on a Chris McClendon single in the sixth and added three runs in the seventh on the Maddox homerun to stretch the lead to 6-2.
River City scored five runs in the ninth to end any comeback thoughts by the CornBelters (27-26) when McClendon cleared the loaded bases with a two-out double.
