Washington Wild Things News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Three runs in the first two innings of play at Traverse City's Wuerfel Park, put the Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, in a lead that would stick for the remainder of the game, giving Washington their first victory while visiting the Beach Bums in two years with a final score of 4-2.

The top of the first inning gave The Wild Things an early lead, as center fielder Chris Sidick scored on a double steal, and error by Traverse City catcher John Parham. Sidick doubled to bring home second baseman Scott Lawson, and a single by first baseman Doug Thennis drove in Sidick, making the score 3-0 Washington.

Traverse City got on the board in the bottom of the third inning when right fielder Matt Brown, scored on an RBI single by left fielder JT Hall. The Beach Bums came within one run of the Wild Things, when center fielder Zach Pace scored on a bases loaded walk.
