
Rascals Hire New General Manager

O'Fallon, MO - The River City Rascals are pleased to announce the hiring of Jamie Toole as the new Executive Vice President and General Manager.
Toole, 29, most recently was the co-founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of the South Coast League, a southeastern based Independent Professional Baseball League, before selling the majority interest in 2006, will begin his duties with the Rascals on Monday, July 28.
Previous General Manager Steve Malliet remains as President of the Rascals.
"We are thrilled to bring a talent like Jamie into our league and to our team," Malliet said. "He was responsible for one of the greatest turnarounds in minor league baseball history a few years ago in Salem, Virginia. Jamie is without a doubt one of the finest operators in all of minor league baseball and when he became available we had to make an effort to bring him here."
Malliet will have efforts both in River City and in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois with a new Frontier League franchise set to open its door in the summer of 2010.
Toole began his career in professional baseball with the Capital City Bombers, while pursuing his bachelor's degree in Sports Administration from the University of South Carolina. After stints with the Joliet JackHammers of the Northern League and the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, Toole joined the Salem Avalanche of the Carolina League as Vice President and General Manager for the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

"The Frontier League continues to set the bar as the marquee Independent Professional Baseball League in the country, and under the continued direction of new ownership, the Rascals are poised for great things in the coming seasons."
