Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

Cody Bellinger was able to beat out Forrest Wall's throw from second on a would-be double play, allowing Mike Ahmed to score from third, giving the Ogden Raptors a 7-6 win over the Grand Junction Rockies.

With back-to-back walk-off wins, the Raptors have pulled to within a half game of the Rockies for first place in the South Division with 11 games to play as the Rockies have lost four in a row for the first time all season.

The Raptors scored in the bottom of the ninth, after Wall was left at third base in the top half of the inning.

Justin Chigbogu got the scoring started when he broke the Raptors record for most home runs in a season when he hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the first. Randy Reyes got one of those runs back in the second when he doubled home Hamlet Marte with two out in the second.

Kelvin Ramos made it a three run game when he started the bottom of the second with a triple and scored on a Billy Bereszniewcz sacrifice fly, and Andrew Godbold gave the Raptors a 5-1 lead when he started the bottom of the fourth inning with his second home run of the season.

Wes Rogers cut the lead in half when he followed Max George's walk with his third home run of the season, and after the first two Rockies reached base to start the sixth, Reyes tied the game with a double, and Henry Garcia gave the Rockies the lead with an RBI single in the seventh but Cody Bellinger answered with an RBI single of his own in the bottom of the inning.

Wall finished with two hits and four stolen bases, while Reyes had a two hit, three RBI day.

Bellinger, Godbold and Ahmed had two games for the Raptors.

The Rockies and Raptors will head to Grand Junction where they'll start a four-game series on Monday night. The winner will be in first place with 10 games to play.
