Raptors 905 Tame the Herd in Wisconsin

Raptors 905 (5-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, defeated the Wisconsin Herd (4-5) 135-126 Saturday evening. G League Player of the Week Reggie Perry led the 905 putting up 26 points, securing nine rebounds, and dishing out four assists. The Herd were led by Jordan Bone with 28 points, six rebounds, 14 assists, and two steals in the loss.
The two teams opened the ball game trading baskets back-and-forth. However, the 905 were able to go on a 12-2 run to end the quarter, taking a seven-point lead going into the second. The905 continued to build off their momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Herd 38-23, and extending their lead to 22 going into the break.
Down as many as 29 points in the third quarter, the Herd quickly fought back outscoring the 905 34-26 and reducing the 905's lead to 14 as they entered the final frame. The Herd mounted their comeback bid in the final 12, bringing the game within four with 59 seconds remaining, but a joint effort from the 905 allowed them to close out the win in Wisconsin.
Jeff Dowtin Jr. paced the 905 contributing 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in the victory. The Herd received complementary scoring from Elijah Hughes adding 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks to the stat sheet.
The Raptors 905 return home for a six-game homestand beginning Wednesday with back-to-back matchups against the Birmingham Squadron, tip-off scheduled for 11:00 am. The Herd travel to Motor City to take on the Cruise Monday, tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
