
Rapinoe Named to National Team Roster

Seattle Reign FC News Release
September 8, 2016- Today U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) head coach Jill Ellis announced
the roster for the team's upcoming September friendlies. Seattle Reign FC's Megan
Rapinoe is among the 21 players selected.
Midfielder Megan Rapinoe returns to the team after
making the 2016 Rio Olympics roster, in which she appeared in two matches.
Since returning to Seattle Reign FC, Rapinoe has played in three straight
matches, scoring a goal in Reign FC's match against Portland Thorns FC on
August 27th.
The national team's next match is Thursday,
September 15th against Thailand. The match will be played at MAPFRE
Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. This will be the USWNT's first match at MAPFRE
Stadium since 2013, when they tied New Zealand 1-1. Thursday's game will be
played at 5 p.m. PT and can be seen on ESPN 2.
The team's second and final match for the month of September
will take place on Sunday, September 18th against the Netherlands in
Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT and will be
broadcast on FOX Sports 1.
