
Rapids Sign Veteran Midfielder Collen Warner to a One-Year Contract

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids announced today the signing of defensive midfielder Collen Warner to a one-year contract with a club option for an additional season, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.
"As we prepare for the MLS is Back Tournament next month, our focus is on continuing the form which saw us start the season with two consecutive wins," said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP and General Manager. "We're driven by the opportunity to win the first trophy of the season and recognize that this competition format will test teams' rosters like never before. Collen not only provides additional depth to our midfield, his familiarity with Robin [Fraser] from their time together in Toronto will be an asset in helping him integrate quickly with our group."
Warner joins the Rapids as a free agent after previously spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons with Minnesota United FC. The Denver, Colorado, native has made 204 appearances and recorded four goals and 12 assists across his nine seasons in the league, which in addition to Minnesota have included stints with Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and Real Salt Lake.
The Rapids will resume play next month in the MLS is Back Tournament that will be held at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex in Florida from July 8 to August 11. Colorado has been drawn into Group D alongside rival Real Salt Lake and regional foes Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United FC. The club's first game of the tournament will take place on July 12 at 8:30 p.m. MT against Real Salt Lake.
