COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, February 3, 2012) - The Colorado Rapids announced on Friday that the club has parted ways with forward Caleb Folan by mutual consent.
"We would like to thank Caleb for his service to the Rapids, and wish him the best moving forward," said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. "This will allow us the ability to bring in other players ahead of the season, in positions where we have greater need."
Folan, 29, joined the Rapids ahead of the 2011 season and played 26 games (16 starts), scoring six goals.
The Rapids are currently in preseason training, and will travel to California on Saturday for a series of scrimmages and exhibition matches. The 2012 season opens on March 10 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, when the Rapids host the Columbus Crew.
