COLORADO RAPIDS HEAD COACH ROBIN FRASER
On tonight's match:
"First and foremost, Seattle is a very good team. They had a number of that all played really well. Disappointing for us to get the goal and then proceed to not play the way that we can play. Yeah, I don't know. You look at their goal, though, and all I'm going to say is look at where the so-called foul happen-everyone should watch it again and see what they think about that call-and then the distance between where the foul occurred and where the ball was played from, I just don't understand how that's okay. But yeah, I don't know what the reason is. I don't know why that happens, but it seems like it happens to us every week. We had a great goal taken away last week, and then this week, I just don't even understand how a foul can happen in one half of the field and the free kick is taken in the other half of the field and somehow that's okay. But again, I first and foremost, I want to give credit to Seattle because I really think that a number of their players played extremely well tonight."
On the team's performance following Seattle's red card:
"Yeah, it's frustrating. It's frustrating because I thought all of last week we just got better and better and better throughout the week, and it culminated with a really good performance against the Galaxy. And what a great start tonight. Fantastic ball by Diego [Rubio], great run and finish by Jonny [Lewis]. Then to go from there to just not being willing to play quite enough is disappointing, very disappointing. To go up a man, that's a time when I really think you should be able to put teams under a ton of pressure if you're good with your spacing and you're passing and I thought it was just wasn't what it needed to be tonight. I'm going to keep saying this throughout this so it doesn't sound like this is sour grapes or anything-really, full credit to Seattle. I thought they played extremely well. Even down a man, I thought they were extremely good, dangerous, confident. So I thought they did a good job and we weren't quite as good as we needed to be."
COLORADO RAPIDS FORWARD JONATHAN LEWIS
On tonight's match:
"I think we let them take the game. We had all the momentum, scored early. We were all over them and then they were able to at that [penalty] call obviously kind of shift the momentum of the game. But one of the things that Robin [Fraser] has been talking about is just bearing teams and we just have to be resolute. Even in the second half we had chances. I watch them back and I made a mistake. I should have played Diego [Rubio] and just those type of things that can change the game and I didn't realize that he literally had a tap-in if I gave it to him. So we just have to-just the concentration, we just have to keep it for 90 minutes."
On how the team can progress after the result:
"I mean, I think we just have to take it game by game. We have a big game coming up next against the Red Bulls. They're a team that's doing well this year so we have to get aligned, put together consistent performances. Again, we had three games back to back where we definitely outplayed the teams, got five points last week, which for us this season has been good, and also consistent performances. But now today, again came out flying on top and then we just let the game kind of slip, and again, I'm going to go back to that call."
