Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, May 3, 2012) - The Colorado Rapids and Coca-Cola are teaming up once again to support our troops by launching a fundraising campaign this Saturday, May 4 to raise money and awareness for the Rocky Mountain USO. Fans can donate $5 to the USO at a booth at any Rapids home game between now and July 7, and will receive a voucher for a free 20 oz. Coca-Cola product, redeemable inside the stadium, for their donation. All proceeds will go directly to the USO in a check that will be presented on Military Appreciation Night on July 7.
At each of the six games, including this weekend's matchup against Toronto FC, the Colorado Rapids will recognize a Military Hero of the Match at halftime to thank them for their service to the United States. Throughout the entire match, fans can stop by the USO booth at the top of section 127 to donate $5 and sign their name on a magnet. The magnets will then be displayed on the concourse until Military Appreciation Night, where the Rapids and Coca-Cola will honor members of the United States Armed Forces and celebrate their outstanding military service.
The Rapids take on Toronto FC this Saturday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. MT at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, with a special 5280 Package presented by Westerra Credit Union available, giving fans four tickets and $20 in Rapids Cash, valid at the concession stands and team store, for just $52.80.
