Rapid City's Tim Boron Named Warrior CHL Goaltender of the Month

(Rapid City, SD) - The Central Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Rapid City Rush netminder Tim Boron has been named the Warrior Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for March/2013. Boron helped the Rush to a 7-2-2 record in March, leading the team to a 4th-place finish for home ice advantage in the opening round. Boron will receive a special gift courtesy of Warrior and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment. The Rush kick off their 2013 Presidents' Cup playoff run this weekend versus the Missouri Mavericks. In eight appearances in March, Boron earned a 5-1-1 record, posting a very impressive 1.72 goals against average and .941 save percentage. The 7th-year netminder began the month with 26 saves in a 2-0 win over the Arizona Sundogs, his second shutout of the season.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native won five of his seven decisions and allowed two goals or fewer in six of his eight appearances.
On the season, Boron is 20-12-3 with a 2.42 goals against average and a league-leading .923 save percentage. This marks the second-consecutive season that Boron leads all CHL goaltenders in save percentage (.925 in 2012).
This is Boron's second award this season, also receiving Goaltender of the Week honors in mid-January.
