Raphael Cox Named to MASL Team of the Week
March 7, 2018 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Tacoma Stars News Release
Tacoma, WA - Raphael Cox used a hat trick combined with the game winning goal in overtime against the Kansas City Comets to be named to the MASL Team of the Week for week 19 of the 2017-18 season.
"The Tacoma Stars did not need to win on Friday against the Kansas City Comets to secure their postseason berth, but that didn't seem to matter to Raphael Cox. The veteran midfielder scored twice in the second half to help send the game into overtime, then only needed a minute of the extra period to finish his hat trick and secure the win" the league said in its press release.
Cox appeared in all 22 regular season games for the Stars, scoring 17 goals to go with five assists. He joins Alex Megson, Danny Waltman, Nick Perera, Alain Matingou, and Jamael Cox as Tacoma Stars named to the Team of the Week this season.
Nick Perera was an honorable mention to this week's team as well.
Tickets for Thursday's playoff game against the San Diego Sockers are on sale and you can call 1-844-STARS-84 or go to www.tacomastars.com. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:35 pm.
Tacoma Stars games are streamed live on www.masl.tv with live stats available at www.maslsoccer.com.
