Rangers To Honour Paul Coffey

Kitchener, ON: The Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club will honour Paul Coffey prior to the game against the Ottawa 67's on Sunday, January 14th (2 pm) at The Aud.

Coffey will join fellow Rangers alumni Larry Robinson and Bill Barber in The Aud rafters with their Hall of Fame banners.

Coffey played with the Rangers during the 1979-80 season totaling 71 points (19-52) in 52 games. In 151 career OHL games the high scoring defenseman notched 195 points (48-147) with Kingston, Sault Ste Marie and the Rangers.

Selected 6th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980 NHL Draft, the eight time all-star and 3 time Norris Trophey winning defenseman went on to enjoy 21 seasons as an NHL superstar scoring 393 goals and finishing his career with 1,531 points in 1,409 games. His total points currently rank him 11th all-time in the NHL.

In 2004 Coffey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
