Rangers Roster Moves Affect Round Rock Express

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Four roster moves within the Texas Rangers organization made Wednesday affect the Round Rock Express. The moves are as follows:

- RHP Brett Tomko contract purchased by Rangers from Round Rock

- C Taylor Teagarden recalled to Rangers from Round Rock

- LHP Michael Kirkman optioned from Rangers to Round Rock

- C Robinzon Diaz assigned to Round Rock from Frisco (AA)

Additionally, the Rangers placed right-hander Mason Tobin on the 60-day disabled list with right ulnar collateral ligament inflammation.

Tomko was 0-2 with a 6.35 ERA for the Express in two starts this season. He last pitched in Round Rock series opener at New Orleans last Friday and suffered the loss in the a 4-0 Zephyrs victory.

Teagarden hit safely in all six games played with Round Rock, posting a .389 average (7-for-18). Five of his seven hits were for extra bases with two doubles, one triple and two home runs.

Kirkman was recalled to Texas late last week to fill the roster spot voided with right-hander Colby Lewis was granted MLB Paternity Leave. Kirkman appeared in one game with the Rangers - last night against Anaheim.

Diaz played five games at Frisco and posted a .286 average (4-for-14) with no extra-base hits, one run scored and two RBI.

Round Rock returns to action tonight, continuing a four-game series at Oklahoma City. The Express won Tuesday night's opener 6-2.
