
Rangers Drop Game Four in Kitchener Tuesday

Kitchener, Ont. - The Rangers were held off the scoresheet in a 5-0 defeat to the London Knights Tuesday in game four of this best-of-seven series. London leads the series 3-1 and Kitchener now faces elimination for the first time in the OHL playoffs this Thursday night.
Both goaltenders traded big saves in the opening half the of the first period. It was the visiting Knights who opened the scoring on their second power-play of the period. At 13:28, with 1:02 left on the man advantage, a point shot was deflected up and over the left shoulder of Marco Costantini by Denver Barkey. Then, with 19.6 seconds on the clock, George Diaco carried the puck in for a 2-on-1 break and scored short-side past the blocker of Costantini.
London led by two after 20 minutes of play and shots favoured the Knights 10-9.
London mirrored their first period efforts as they scored another goal with under 20 seconds to play in the period, this time on the man-advantage. It was Sean McGurn who got London's third goal of the game with a slot-pass that got re-directed through the legs of Costantini. With 14.4 seconds on the clock, Ryan Humphrey made it 4-0 to end the middle frame.
London led 4-0 through 40 minutes of play and outshot the Rangers 24-16.
London added a fifth goal with Connor Federkow taking a pass out of the penalty box and in for a breakaway. London came away with the 5-0 victory on the night. Final shots favoured the Knights 31-25.
Kitchener finished the game 0-for-5 on the power-play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill. All three stars of the game were awarded to members of the London Knights.
Next Up: Kitchener will travel to the Budweiser Gardens Thursday night to try and avoid elimination in game five of this best-of-seven series. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. If the Rangers win, game six will be in Kitchener at The Aud this Sunday at 2 p.m.
