Dmitry Kuzmin Called up by Jets, Reassigned to Manitoba

Flint, Mich. - The Winnipeg Jets announced today that defenseman Dmitry Kuzmin has been reassigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Manitoba Moose

This past year, Kuzmin finished sixth among all OHL defensemen in Pts (59) and eighth in assists (45). He added 1 G and 7 A in 7 GP in the OHL playoffs for the Firebirds.

The Firebirds selected Kuzmin as their first-round pick (#46 overall) in the 2020 CHL Import Draft. He ranks 1st all-time among Firebirds defensemen in G (32) and 2nd in A (71) and Pts (103).

The native of Kholstovo, Belarus was selected by Winnipeg in the 3rd round (#82 overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft. His first season in Flint came the year after when he tied the single-season goals record by a defenseman (18) and added 26 A in just 57 GP. He signed with the Jets back in August of 2021.

Manitoba begins their quest for a Calder Cup in the AHL Playoffs against the Milwaukee Admirals with Game 1 kicking off their first-round series on Friday, April 28.
