Rangers Double Up On Otters 4-2

6,146 fans attended the Kitchener Rangers Fan Appreciation game at The Aud to witness a 4-2 win over the Erie Otters.

Jason Akeson went end to end to net the first goal in the game at the 7:37 mark on a Rangers power play. Greg McKegg tied the game 1-1 midway through the first period.

Kitchener and Erie exchanged goals in the second period to again level out scoring 2-2. Akeson scored his second of the game to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead by the 5:23 mark, followed up by the Otters Zack Torquato at the 14:01 mark.

A quick shot by Micky Sartoretto at the 2:12 mark of the third period gave Kitchener back their one goal lead. Chris MacKinnon netted the empty net insurance marker nearing the end of the third period to end scoring 4-2 Rangers.

The Rangers return to action on Wednesday, March 11 when they travel to Guelph for a 7:00 pm game. They will return to home ice on Friday, March 13 for a 7:30 pm game versus the Windsor Spitfires.
