
Majors Sink Frontenacs

Mississauga ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors ended off their homestand with a tilt against the Kingston Frontenacs and edged the visitors, 4-3. Majors forward William Wallén registered a three-point night (a goal and 2 assists) in the win this afternoon. The Majors record climbs to 37-25-1-2 on the season, as a result.
Kingston was quick to start in the 1st period as Andris Dzerins and Brian Lashoff both connected at 4:21 and at 12:06 respectively to put the visitors up 2-0. Nathan Moon, George Lovatsis, Bobby Mignardi and Ethan Werek. Wallén got the Majors on the board at 13:30 on a man-advantage, with help from Casey Cizikas and Devante Smith-Pelly, to cut the lead in half.
It was all Mississauga in the 2nd period as Jordan Mayer opened up the frame with a tally at 9:52. The assists went to Wallén and Corey Bureau. Then, Mike Pelech's goal coming with only 3 seconds left in the stanza put the Majors up 3-1. Brett Flemming and Wallén provided the passes.
Mayer got the home squad ahead 4-2 when he tickled the twine 10:02 (power-play) into the 3rd period. Pelech and Kale Kerbashian were the helpers. Werek scored shortly after on the power-play for the Frontenacs at 14:30 to round out the frame. Moon and Lashoff got the assists.
JP Anderson started between the pipes for the Majors and turned aside 39 shots while Mavric Parks made 29 saves for the Frontenacs. Mississauga went 2 for 2 on the power-play, while Kingston finished 1 for 8. The stars were Mayer (1st), Moon (2nd) and Anderson (3rd).

Mississauga returns home on Friday night (March 13) for a match-up with the Niagara IceDogs. It will also be Italian Heritage Night in partnership with CHIN Radio / TV International at the game, featuring the Italian National Anthem, a ceremonial puck-drop with special guests and Italian food.

Majors season ticket holders can pick up pre-paid playoff tickets anytime after Tuesday afternoon at the Majors office.
