Rangers double-up Attack

Kitchener, ON: Steve Downie and Victor Oreskovich each scored twice tonight leading the Rangers to a 4-2 win over the Owen Sound Attack before a crowd of 6,036 at The Aud.

Steve Downie opened the scoring with his 28th goal of the season at 10:07 while on the power play. Bobby Ryan responded moments later to tie game at 1-1 with a shorthanded goal.

In the second period Victor Oreskovich put the Rangers ahead with his 19th goal of the season at 2:14. Downie made it a 3-1 game with his 29th goal at 2:54. Bobby Ryan responded for the Attack with his second of the game and 29th of the season to cut the lead to 3-2. Oreskovich buried his second of the game and 20th of the season to give the Rangers a 4-2 advantage after forty minutes.

Neither team scored in the third period despite the Rangers outshooting the Attack 16-9 in the period. For the game the Rangers outshot Owen Sound 51-40.

John Murray picked up his 29th win of the season stopping 38 of the 40 Owen Sound shots.

The Rangers next home game is Sunday, January 28th against the Sudbury Wolves. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
