PEARL, MS - Alan Rangel spun seven shutout innings, allowed one hit and posted a career-high 12 strikeouts to lead the Mississippi Braves (55-70, 22-35) to a series win, 6-0, against the Rocket City Trash Pandas (57-69, 26-31) on Sunday night at Trustmark Park.

Rangel retired the first 14 hitters before giving up a hit. The right-hander hit his career-high with a 12th strikeout at the start of the seventh inning. His seven innings were a season high. In his last six starts, Rangel has a 1.84 ERA (5 ER/34.1 IP) with five walks and 42 strikeouts.

The M-Braves took advantage of defensive miscues by Rocket City, scoring six runs on five hits and three errors. After Cody Milligan singled and reached third base on two errors in the first inning, Cal Conley scored Milligan with a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.

The M-Braves scored four runs without a hit in the sixth inning. Two runs scored on a key error and two more runs scored on a wild pitch to extend the M-Braves lead to 5-0.

Bryson Horne knocked in a run on a liner to shallow left-center field in the seventh to make it 6-0. Horne went 2-for-4 with an RBI in his sixth multi-hit game since joining the club on August 8. He extended his hitting streak to six games.

Domingo Gonzalez and Tyler Owens preserved the shutout by each tossing a scoreless inning.

The M-Braves have a scheduled off day tomorrow before continuing the season's final homestand on Tuesday night against the Tennessee Smokies (Double-A Affiliate, Chicago Cubs). The M-Braves have six games left in the 2023 home slate. For tickets and a full list of promotions, visit mississippibraves.com.
