Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

San Bernardino, CA - The Quakes saw their season-best win streak come to an end, as the Inland Empire 66ers defeated Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday afternoon, by a final of 7-3 at San Manuel Stadium.

A five-run third was the difference as the 66ers won their first game of the series, snapping Rancho's four-game winning streak in the process.

The Quakes had a pair of one-run leads, but couldn't hold tight, as Juan Alonso helped the Quakes early with a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored against Inland Empire starter Riley Bauman (1-1).

Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Quakes' starter Cam Day started to struggle. Inland plated five runs and chased Day (0-1), with Joe Redfield providing the big blow, a three-run double to make it 6-2.

The teams traded late runs, with Rancho's ninth-inning rally falling short, as the tying run was left in the on-deck circle to end the game.

The Quakes (5-4) will send Gabe Emmett (1-0) to the mound on Thursday, as they look to get back on track. Inland Empire will counter with Keythel Key (0-0) at 6:35pm.

The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on April 23 for a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
