
Rancho Holds off Sixers Rally, Splits 4-Gamer in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, CA- The Quakes held off a late threat from the 66ers and used a four-run inning to top Inland Empire, 5-3 for a four-game split of the series.
Rancho jumped on reliever Kida De La Cruz and secured their largest lead of the night in the sixth inning, sending eight men to the plate.
Trailing 2-1, Omar Estevez and Logan Landon reached on a single and a walk to open the sixth. Steve Berman plated Estevez with a single to tie the game while advancing Landon down to third. Landon scored on a wild pitch and Jared Walker tripled to extend the Quakes to a 4-2 advantage. Saige Jenco capped the inning on an RBI-fielders choice as Walked crossed for the 5-2 lead.
Inland Empire added a run against Connor Strain in the seventh and Marshall Kasowski had to navigate around trouble in the ninth.
Kasowski walked Alberto Triunful to open the final frame and DJ Jenkins singled to put runners at the corners and the tying run at first. Brandon Marsh and Connor Justus both went down swinging as Kasowski was able to lock in for the two-inning save, his fourth of the season.
Starting pitcher Isaac Anderson complete the fifth inning as was given the lead by the offense in the sixth. Anderson (5-5) tossed five complete innings, allowing two runs on four hits and awaited his fifth win of the season.
De La Cruz (1-2), who allowed all four Rancho runs in the sixth, was hit with the loss.
Following a day off, the Quakes return home on Wednesday to host the San Jose Giants in the beginning of a six-game home stand. RHP Dustin May (5-3) will get the start for the Quakes and be opposed by DJ Myers (3-3) of the Giants.
