Saskatoon Blades News Release
Saskatoon, SK - Saskatoon Blades forward Gage Ramsay has decided to retire from junior hockey and begin his post-secondary education.
Ramsay, who will turn 20 in October, was acquired by the Saskatoon Blades from the Vancouver Giants in October of 2016. The hometown product of Saskatoon logged 166 career games in the Western Hockey League-- 123 with his hometown Blades. During his two seasons in Saskatoon, Ramsay scored 15 goals and 33 points. He was also a fixture in the community throughout the years, representing the team at charity events 12 months a year.
"It's been awesome, I'd just like to thank both the Blades and the Giants for giving me an opportunity to play in the league that taught me valuable life lessons," said Ramsay. "From my teammates, coaches, staff, and the fans, I've met a lot of great people along the way. I'll still be in Saskatoon while going to school so I'll still be cheering on the Blades."
Ramsay plans to use his WHL Scholarship as he begins his pursuit of a career in business, starting with classes at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in September and the University of Saskatchewan in the new year.
The Saskatoon Blades would like to thank Gage for his contributions and commitment to our organization over the past two years, and wish him all the best in his academic endeavours.
