Beloit Sky Carp News Release

An offensive surge in the 6th inning put the Snappers ahead for good in a high scoring affair that ended 9-8 in favor of Beloit.

The big inning at the plate for the Snappers was highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of catcher Danny Rams. The homerun was Rams' ninth of the season and his 4 RBI game put Beloit in a great position to win.

Kane Holbrooks pitched six and picked up the win, his fifth of the year. The only blemish for Holbrooks was a three-run fourth inning but he battled through and earned a victory, striking out five Loons on the way. Snappers newcomer, Clint Dempster, picked up his first save of the year by ending a late threat by Great Lakes in the top of the ninth.

The "Brody Trophy Player of the Game" goes to Danny Rams. The catchers' grand slam was the difference in tonight's ball game, giving Beloit just enough insurance to pull off the win. Rams had four RBI tonight, giving him 39 on the year.

Beloit will host the Loons once more tomorrow with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00. Fireworks will follow tomorrow's series finale and also the opener against the Lansing Lugnuts on Saturday night.
