THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Friday, Oct. 14 vs. Oklahoma City Barons

AT&T Center, 7 p.m.

The Rampage will look for their second straight win to start the season when the Oklahoma City Barons come to San Antonio on Friday. The Barons are 0-1-0-0 after dropping their season opener to the Texas Stars on Sunday in Austin.

Saturday, Oct. 15 at Houston Aeros

Toyota Center, 7:35 p.m.

The Rampage will travel to Houston to play the Aeros on Saturday night in their first Lone Star Faceoff matchup. Last season the Rampage went 4-6-0-0 in 10 meetings with the Aeros.

FACE-OFF AGAINST KIDS CANCER KICKOFF EVENT-Oct. 10: The Rampage team will host a pizza and board game party for child cancer pa- tients at the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital located downtown tonight at 6 p.m. The party is a welcom- ing event in which Rampage hockey players will be paired with children from the Centers for Oncology and Blood Disorders at Christus Santa Rosa, who are currently in either early stages of treatment for pediatric cancer or in remission, and will meet their buddy for the first time.

KZEP DOLLAR DRINK NIGHT- Oct. 14: Every Friday fans can get $1 draft beer and $1 fountain soda.

COME ONE, COME ALL: The Rampage opened their 10th anniversary season with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Chicago Wolves in front of a record- breaking home opening crowd of 9,062 Saturday night at the AT&T Center.

QUICK STRIKE: Bracken Kearns' goal 27 seconds into the game on Saturday was the fastest Rampage goal ever recorded to open a season.

MIDDLE RELIEF: After coming in to start the second period against the Wolves, goaltender Brian Foster stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced and did not allow a goal in the shootout.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Defenseman Nolan Yonkman was named Ram- page captain for the second consecutive season last week. Yonkman, a 10- year veteran, appeared in 56 games in San Antonio last year and played 16 games in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes.

ICE CHIPS: Jonathan Hazen-Forward

Jonathan Hazen wasted no time making an impression with his new team on Saturday night. In his American Hockey League debut, Hazen scored his first career pro- fessional goal in the second period to knot the score 2-2.

Hazen, 21, joined the Rampage over the summer after playing four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Val d'Or Foreurs. He recorded 106 goals and 121 assists in 242 career games with Val d'Or.

Last year Hazen was one of the QMJHL's top scorers as he posted 83 points (41 goals, 42 assists) in 62 games.
