Sova, Young Reassigned to Kalamazoo

ALBANY, N.Y. - Defensemen Joe Sova and Harry Young have been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils to the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL). The announcement was made by Albany Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Sova, 23, is in his first full professional season after registering a goal and three assists in 11 games at the end of the 2010-11 season for Albany. A native of Berwyn, Ill., he spent three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, totaling 58 points with 13 goals and 45 assists. New Jersey signed Sova as a free agent on Mar. 19, 2011.

Young, 21, is in his second season with the Devils organization after playing in 52 games for Albany and three games for the Trenton Devils (ECHL) during his rookie campaign. At the AHL level, he produced a goal and four assists and accumulated 142 penalty minutes in 2010-11. New Jersey drafted the Windsor, Ont. native 202nd overall during the 2008 NHL Draft.

Albany returns to action on Friday, Oct. 14 for a 7 p.m. outing against the Connecticut Whale - the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers.
