Rampage Sign Matt Pope to PTO

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed right wing Matt Pope to a professional try-out (PTO).

Pope, 26, spent the 2009-10 season with the Manitoba Moose (AHL) and the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL). He posted three goals and five assists in 40 games with Manitoba and recorded four goals and four assists in six games with Bakersfield.

The Langley, British Columbia native has appeared in 52 career AHL games totaling 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists) over the course of two seasons with Binghamton (2008-09) and Manitoba (2008-10).

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward posted 71 career points (33 goals, 38 assists) in 143 games with Bemidji State University (NCAA) over the course of four seasons (2004-08).

The Rampage host the Texas Stars today at 3 p.m. at the AT&T Center. Fans can enjoy a free pregame skate starting two hours prior to puck drop.
