Rampage Recall Goaltender Kent Simpson

SAN ANTONIO- The San Antonio Rampage announced today that goaltender Kent Simpson has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (ECHL). In addition, goaltender Nathan Lieuwen has been reassigned to the Eagles.

Simpson, 24, has yet to play between the pipes for the Rampage. He played his first five games of the 2016-17 campaign with the Eagles, logging a shutout on Oct. 21 against the Alaska Aces on the way to a .924 save percentage and a 2.18 goals allowed average this season. The Edmonton, Alberta native was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and has played in 49 AHL games.

Lieuwen, 25, rejoins the Eagles after playing in two games with the Rampage. He made 19-of-24 saves in 79 minutes played with San Antonio. The fifth-year pro recorded an .860 save percentage and a 3.86 goals allowed average with the Eagles, before being recalled on Nov. 1. Originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the Abbotsford, B.C. native has logged 118 professional games, including seven NHL appearances with the Buffalo Sabres.

The San Antonio Rampage continue the second half of a six-game road stint on Wednesday at 9 p.m. against the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
