Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
Grand Rapids, MI - The ArenaBowl XV Champion Grand Rapids Rampage announced today the activation of lineman Bryant Shaw from the team's exempt list.
Shaw (6-3, 287, Mississippi College) originally signed with the Rampage in February of 2001, but was placed on Grand Rapids' exempt list when he re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. The former Mississippi College standout, who joined America's team as rookie free agent in 2000, has spent the past two seasons as a Cowboys' allocation in NFL Europe. Most recently, Shaw played for the Berlin Thunder, who won its second consecutive World Bowl Championship on June 22. The 23-year-old lineman spent his first NFL Europe season with the Scottish Claymores in 2001, finishing third on the team with four sacks.
Shaw, who is not related to Rampage brothers Harold (Fullback/Linebacker) or Terrill Shaw (Offensive Specialist), is scheduled to see his first Arena Football League action this Saturday night as the Rampage face the Chicago Rush in a Central Division showdown at Van Andel Arena. Only 1,000 tickets remain for the regular season finale, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
