July 5, 2002 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
July 5, 2002 - Chicago Rush offensive specialist Antonio Chatman was named the Arena Football League's Rookie of the Month for June, the AFL announced today. Chatman helped lead the Rush to a 4-1 record in June by catching more passes (39) for more yards (471) than any other receiver in the league. He had eight receiving touchdowns while also returning 27 kicks for 641 yards and two touchdowns during the month.
"I am excited for him," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "Antonio has worked hard to make himself into a special player. He already has turned himself into one of the most dangerous return men in the league. I think he is the Rookie of the Year."
After traveling to Grand Rapids Saturday, the Rush returns home to Allstate Arena for its final two regular season games Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, July 20. Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to either game may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
