
Ramos Goes Deep In One-Run Loss To Ports

STOCKTON, Calif. - Roberto Ramos went deep but, the JetHawks bats went silent late in a 3-2 loss to the Stockton Ports on Tuesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
Ramos blasted his team-leading fifth home run of the season, an opposite field shot, to tie the game in the second inning. He added another hit later in the and has totaled four hits in the first two games of the series, including a triple.
Lancaster (13-13) tied the game twice for Rico Garcia (3-2), but twice the right-hander was unable to hold the tie.
The Ports (17-9) jumped back ahead in the fourth inning on doubles from Luis Barrera and Melvin Mercedes.
The JetHawks would tie the game, 2-2, in the sixth on a Vince Fernandez RBI-single, but Garcia gave up a solo home run to Edwin Diaz in the bottom of the inning. The homer would ultimately be the deciding blow
Garcia recorded a quality start, allowing three runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Reliever Andrew Tomasovich (1-0) gave up a run over two innings to pick up his first win. Boomer Biegalski pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save.
The series continues Wednesday night in Stockton. Matt Dennis (1-4) takes the mound against Matt Milburn (1-1). First pitch is 7:10 p.m.
