
Ramirez Named Pitcher of the Week

WINNIPEG, MB - Winnipeg Goldeyes right-handed pitcher Luis Ramirez has been named the American Association's Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 30th to June 5th.
The native of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic won both his starts, working 12 innings and allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out 15 batters.
The 29-year-old Ramirez is in the starting rotation for the first time in his career after making 152 relief appearances in the Arizona and Colorado minor league systems.
The Goldeyes are off Tuesday and open a two-game series against the Kansas City Monarchs on Wednesday, June 8th. First pitch from Legends Field is set for 7:05 p.m. All the action can be heard locally on CJNU 93.7 FM and worldwide at cjnu.ca.
Winnipeg returns home Monday, June 13th when they host the Kane County Cougars at Shaw Park.
