Rall Named Pitcher of the Week

Durham, NC- The Bangor Lumberjacks are proud to announce that the Northeast League has named Lumberjack pitcher Tim Rall as this week's Daktronics Pitcher of the Week. Rall earned the honor after pitching two seven-inning shutouts this week.

Rall, a rookie out of St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina, tossed 14 shutout innings, pitching two seven inning complete game shutouts on the back ends of two doubleheaders the Jacks played this week. He struck out ten and walked six in the two starts, allowing just six hits. The Lynbrook, NY native lowered his season ERA to a league best 1.00 and improved to 4-0 on the season.

He holds the SAPC career records for most appearances (120), innings pitched (300.2) and strikeouts (302) as well as the single season records for most wins (11), set in 2001, and appearances (34), set in 1999 and 2000. Manager Kash Beauchamp drafted Rall with the seventh pick in the 2003 Northeast League open tryout in Florida this March.

This is the first such award for any Lumberjack player this season.

The Lumberjacks home stand continues Wednesday night against the North Shore Spirit for Q106.5 Night and Diamonds at the Diamond presented by Day's Jewelers. Q106.5 will be broadcasting live from the game and someone in the crowd will win a pair of diamond earrings valued at $500, courtesy of Day's Jewelers.
