WINDSOR,ON - It was too little, too late for the Windsor Express as they fell to the Halifax Rainmen 99-94 on Friday, January 18th at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
The Express were down ten points in the final minute of the game but clawed their way back to a three-point deficit with 9.1 seconds left.
The Express had their chances to takeover in a game. Five Express players reached double-figures in scoring, but none reached double-figures in rebounds. Lester Prosper and Daniel Rose each chipped in 8 rebounds along with seven and six points, respectively.
Darren Duncan led the Express with 19 points and dishing out seven assists while Stefan Bonneau chipped in with 16 points and provided tough defensive pressure that caused turnovers late in the game.
Mike Helms scored 11 points, finishing 2-12 from the field but knocked down all of his free throws, which helped the team's comeback.
The teams will meet again on Thursday, January 24th in Halifax at the Halifax Metro Centre, tip-off is scheduled for 7pm. Halifax is now 12-13 while the Express fall to 10-14 in their inaugural season.
The Express take on London Lightning to continue their 401 Rivalry and seek revenge this Sunday, January 27 at 2PM.
