Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release

Frederick, MD - The record-setting pace of rainouts in the Carolina League continued on Wednesday night as Mother Nature forced the postponement of the Blue Rocks' series finale in Frederick. The teams will make the game up as part of a doubleheader the next time the Blue Crew visits Frederick on August 18. Game time for the opener will be announced at a later date.

With the rain shortening the series, Wilmington takes the abbreviated three-game set with its wins on Monday and Tuesday. It marks the Blue Rocks' 10th rainout of the season, but just their second on the road.

Up next for Brian Rupp's squad, a four-game series at home against the Kinston Indians. The series kicks off on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. on Mystery Night at Frawley Stadium. The Blue Rocks will send All-Star southpaw Danny Duffy (6-2, 3.43) against lefty Russell Young (1-3, 5.00). For tickets, call 302-888 BLUE, visit bluerocks.com or come on down to the box office at 801 Shipyard Drive in Wilmington.
