Rain Suspends Jumbo Shrimp and Barons Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp right-hander Dustin Beggs struck out seven batters in six scoreless innings, while Birmingham Barons right-hander Dylan Cease fanned 11 batters in five shutout innings before rain suspended play after the top of the sixth inning Wednesday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Wednesday's game is scheduled to be resumed at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The game will be completed to a full nine innings, followed by a nine-inning game, which will start no earlier than 7:05 p.m. Regular individual tickets for Wednesday's game may be exchanged at the box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game.

Fans holding tickets for Thursday, Aug. 23, are welcome to attend both the resumed game and the ensuing contest. Group picnics will remain at their scheduled times.

Wednesday marked the 12th scheduled date - eighth at home - the Jumbo Shrimp did not complete a game due to rain. Tickets from the following rain-impacted dates may be exchanged at the box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game:
