Rain Soaked Night At Gesa Stadium Ends In Loss For Tri-City
August 9, 2016 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (4-7, 23-26) lost 4-1 to the Boise Hawks (5-6, 21-28) in the series finale on Monday night at Gesa Stadium. Both teams battled soggy conditions throughout the evening, on a rare rainy summer day in the Tri-Cities.
The Dust Devils pounced early, jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. A bad pickoff throw from Boise starter Breiling Eusebio allowed Taylor Kohlwey to score all the way from first base. As the rain began to come down harder, the lead started to slip away from Tri-City.
A wild pitch with two outs and the bases loaded allowed the Hawks to tie the game in the fifth inning. Boise scored two runs in the sixth inning, giving them a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the game. The Dust Devils only produced two hits at the plate and committed four errors in the loss.
The homestand will continue on Tuesday night as Tri-City will welcome the Spokane Indians to town to begin a three-game series. It will be Summer Games Night presented by Farmers Insurance. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
