Rain Prevents Jacks from Playing Again
May 14, 2003 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- Mother Nature continued to be difficult this week, as today's scheduled exhibition game between the Bangor Lumberjacks and the International Baseball Academy of Japan has been cancelled.
The Jacks had to cancel a previous game this week, and the move to Husson College was designed to get a game in despite the weather because of Husson's turf, which has better drainage.
"We had to make a decision very early regarding the game because the team needed to be able to get an indoor workout in, which we had from 8-11 at the University of Maine," stated Lumberjacks General Manager Curt Jacey.
The game was scheduled for an 11 AM start, and will not be made up.
The Lumberjacks open the 2003 campaign on the road against the Allentown (PA) Ambassadors on Thursday, May 22, but return to Bangor for the home opener on Friday, May 30 at 7 PM against the New Jersey Jackals at Mahaney Diamond. Please call 207-947-1900 for all ticket, promotional, and sponsorship information.
