Rain Forces Juice Game Suspended Until Thursday

Aiken, SC- The Bradenton Juice went for the sweep of the Aiken Foxhounds on Saturday night but the game ended with no one getting a victory. The teams were tied at 1 going into the Bottom of the 10th when a torrential downpour came through Aiken postponing the end of the game to be finished on Thursday.
Bradenton struck first on Saturday with a run in the Bottom of the 3rd. With two outs in the inning Al Corbeil singled to center field and two batters later left fielder Mikela Olsen smacked a single to left field that scored Corbeil from second base.
Aiken tied up the game in the 6th with Joe Cuttone led off with a single to right field. Brian Gartley retired the next two batters before allowing a single to Jeff Timmons that Cuttone went from first to third base on. Then with Ben Bando at the plate Brian Gartley unleashed a wild pitch that Cuttone scored on tying the game at 1.
The rain started falling in the Top of the 10th inning and Bradenton got runners on first and second before Zach Woodward grounded into a 6-4-3 inning ending double play. Once the out was recorded the umpires stopped the game due to rain and the rain stopped about 15 minutes later but the field was not in condition to play.
The two teams will finish the series finale before starting a new three game series on Thursday in Aiken, South Carolina. The game time for Thursday's first game is TBD.
Brian Gartley pitched very well for Bradenton going 7 innings, allowing a run on 5 hits, walking none, and striking out 7. Reid Price started for Aiken pitching 5 innings, allowing a run on 3 hits, walking 5 batters, and striking out 3.
Bradenton starts a 3-game series with the Anderson Joes on Sunday at 6:05 at Anderson Memorial Stadium. Bradenton took two out of three games from Anderson last week and the Juice are riding a four game winning streak.
