Rain Cancels North Adams-Danbury Tuesday
July 2, 2013 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
North Adams SteepleCats News Release
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - After a brief rain delay pushed the start time back, the skies opened up and forced a cancelation of Tuesday night's North Adams-Danbury NECBL Western Division showdown at Joe Wolfe Field.
The tarp had been on the infield through the majority of the afternoon and was pulled nearly a half-hour before scheduled first pitch. After 30 minutes' worth of work to prep the field for game time, Mother Nature again would not cooperate, washing out the field with a brief-but-intense shower in the midst of the National Anthem.
The rainout is the sixth game altered or canceled by weather in 23 attempts through the first month of the season. No makeup date for Tuesday night's contest has been announced as of this time.
