Infielder Norby Joins North Adams in 2020
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.- The North Adams SteepleCats are happy to announce that infielder Connor Norby (East Carolina) will be joining the roster for the 2020 season.
Norby has experience in summer baseball as he played for the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley League in 2019. With the Generals Norby played in 32 games, hit for an average of .324, smashed four home runs and drove in 19 RBIs. Those numbers were good enough to net him Second-Team All-Valley honors.
Norby will be joining the SteepleCats after completing his sophomore season at East Carolina University. Connor will be looking to help the SteepleCats offensively, he is currently off to a flaming start in 2020 for the Pirates. The infielder has played and started in 15 games so far this season, hitting to an average of .364 (20-55), smashing one homerun and compiling nine RBIs. On March 7, 2020, Norby tallied four hits in a win against Charlotte (a career high). Not just a threat at the plate, Norby has also swiped six bags for the Pirates in 2020.
Connor also has served some time on the mound, pitching a total of 1.2 innings in 2019 for ECU and throwing three innings in the Valley League.
The SteepleCats are excited for the addition of Norby to the club.
