RailHawks to Wear Commemorative Jersey During October 18 Match

CARY, NC (October 7, 2014) - The Carolina RailHawks announced on Tuesday that they will be wearing a commemorative jersey in honor of the Ronald McDonald House of Durham during their October 18 th home match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. This special edition RailHawks Jersey will have the iconic Ronald McDonald House logo on the front.

The RailHawks are participating in the global commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Ronald McDonald House Charities which celebrates the millions of seriously ill children whose lives have been touched since it began operations in 1974 through more than 340 houses worldwide.

"The RailHawks are a great example of our generous community that has made our mission possible for so many years," said Oie Osterkamp, Ronald McDonald House of Durham Executive Director. "Their support will raise awareness and money that will help the sickest children receiving medical care right here in the Triangle. We are grateful for their partnership."

"We are pleased and proud to assist in shining the brightest possible light on the 40th anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House Charities," said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. "This will be the first time in franchise history that we will wear a commemorative jersey. The RailHawks - Ronald McDonald House Commemorative Jersey was unveiled this morning at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham "Better with You" Fundraiser in Raleigh; CLICK HERE to see the design. In the following days the RailHawks will be announcing details on how to acquire these limited edition jerseys. Eleven official match jerseys will be auctioned to raise funds for the charity which operates programs in Durham and Raleigh.
