
RailHawks Sign Tyler Engel for the Remainder of the 2015 Season

Cary, NC (May 29, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks announced today that they have signed forward Tyler Engel. Engel will be available for selection for the remainder of the 2015 spring season.
"Tyler is an exceptional and versatile local player," said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clark. "He will add depth to our forward list and will look into contributing to our overall progress throughout the season."
The Illinois native played for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in Exercise and Sports Science. Throughout his career at Chapel Hill, he was able to score 22 goals. During the 2013 season, Engel scored four game-winning goals which ranked tied for third in the ACC.
While in Sandburg High School, Ill, Engel was a member of the Chicago Fire Academy team, was named an all-state midfielder by the IHSSCA and was a Chicago Sun-Times third team All-Area selection. Engel was also a member of the Chicago Magic Academy which placed third in the 2009 Dallas Cup, and that finished third nationally.
The RailHawks roster is now comprised of 29 players: four goalkeepers (Hunter Gilstrap, Brian Sylvestre, Matt Perrella, and Akira Fitzgerald), eight defenders (Connor Tobin, Daniel Scott, Austen King, Kupono Low, Mamadou Danso, Wes Knight, Blake Wagner, and D.J. Mason), ten midfielders (Nazmi Albadawi, Tiyi Shipalane, Leo Osaki, Neil Hlavaty, Mark Anderson, Austin da Luz, Chris Nurse, Jack Coleman, Jamie Dell, and Matthew Gianfortone) and seven forwards (Nacho Novo, Simone Bracalello, Wells Thompson, Mamadee Nyepon, Bradlee Baladez, Dzenan Catic, and Tyler Engel).
Engel and the Carolina RailHawks will be on the road Saturday, May 30th taking on Jacksonville Armada FC at Community First Park at 7:30 PM ET. The match will be broadcast live on WRAL2.
The team will return to WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, June 6th, at 7:30 pm, when they host Minnesota United FC.
