Cary, NC (May 30, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks (3W-4D-2L, 13pts.) defeated Jacksonville Armada FC (3W-1D-4L, 10 pts.) by a score of 4-0 at Community First Park in their strongest showing of the season.

"We had an outstanding performance tonight and we are very satisfied," said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke. "We need to finish the spring season strong and we now look forward to Minnesota next weekend at home."

The goal scoring started off quickly for the RailHawks. In the 9th minute, Nazmi Albadawi received a corner kick outside the top of the box and chipped a close-range pass to Connor Tobin, who buried the ball into the back of the net. Tobin impacted the game on both sides of the field as he made stout defensive plays including a number of well-executed slide tackles.

The RailHawks continued the pressure throughout the half and the goals kept coming. In the 37th minute, Neil Hlavaty ripped a beautiful shot from 18 yards into the upper 90 to make it 2-0. Leo Osaki buried a free kick from even further out in the 41st minute to stretch the lead.

In the 44th minute, the squad gained one more scoring opportunity in the form of a penalty kick. Mark Anderson converted his first goal as a Carolina RailHawk to make it a 4-0 halftime lead.

Jacksonville turned up their attack in the second half, but their chances were met with great defense from the visitors. Goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald stood his ground with multiple saves including a well-positioned stop on a point blank shot from Armada defender Lucas Trejo in the 60th minute. The RailHawks did well to complete the match and earn three more points in the standings.

The RailHawks will return to WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, June 6th when they take on Minnesota United FC at 7:30 PM ET.
