
RailHawks Set to Play Portland Timbers on Sunday Night

CARY, N.C. (Saturday, June 5, 2010) - The Carolina RailHawks (3-2-2, 11 pts.) begin their West Coast road trip tomorrow at PGE Park in Portland where they will face the Timbers(3-3-2, 11 pts.) at 9 p.m. The match will be streamed live online at www.carolinarailhawks.com/railhawks-live.
"There is always an excellent atmosphere in Portland," said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. "The players really like playing there. We were very well matched last season and we are looking to keep our good run of away form."
The Timbers are coming off two straight losses against Montreal at home and against Crystal Palace in Baltimore. They are led by midfielder Ryan Pore who has scored a league-leading seven goals this season.
The RailHawks' all-time record against Portland is 2-2-4 and will look to continue their away winning streak at PGE Park Sunday night. Last Sunday they defeated the Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium 2-0 with goals by Etienne Barbara and Andriy Budnyy.
Next the RailHawks continue their West Coast trip in Vancouver on Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. They will then return home for the first round of the US Open Cup on June 15 at 7 p.m. The next regular season home match will be Saturday June 19 at 7 p.m. when they host expansion side Crystal Palace Baltimore. It will be "Bark in the Park" night and fans are encouraged to bring their pets to the stadium. The RailHawks will also be celebrating "Father's Day" and the organization will be honoring all dads throughout the evening with giveaways and prizes to be announced on Monday.
