CARY, N.C. - The Carolina RailHawks have extended a big 'Thank You' to Progress Energy and the Salvation Army for their hard work and dedication in helping all those who were affected by the April 16 severe weather that devastated parts of the Triangle and outlying areas.

The RailHawks are offering $5 tickets to all Progress Energy employees, their families and their friends for the RailHawks' May 11 match against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers at WakeMed Soccer Park. Progress Energy, a proud partner of the RailHawks, worked diligently in the storm's aftermath to clear debris and get power back on as quickly as possible in affected areas. All Progress Energy employees will be recognized during halftime of the game.

Also for the May 11 match, the RailHawks donated 750 tickets to the Salvation Army, which distributed those tickets to anyone who made a donation during its day-long fundraiser on April 22 at select Wal-Mart locations. The Salvation Army partnered with the Red Cross for the tornado relief efforts, and they have helped thousands of people affected with food, clothing and other necessities. The Salvation Army is still taking financial donations and food items at its downtown Raleigh location, 215 South Person Street. Anyone who makes a donation will receive a complimentary ticket to the RailHawks' May 11 match at WakeMed Soccer Park. "The RailHawks organization is proud to recognize and support the good work, spirit of volunteerism and giving nature of our great community," said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. "Please continue to donate to the Salvation Army or your charity of choice when possible."
