North Carolina FC News Release

Cary, NC (Tuesday March 25, 2008) - Hot off their 5-0 win over UNC-Greensboro, the Carolina RailHawks will host the Fighting Camels of Campbell University Tuesday night, March 25th, in preparation for the USL-1 2008 season and for the match against the New York Red Bulls on Friday March 28th.

"We're looking to build chemistry off of our first game without undermining the objective which is taking home a result," said RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. "Every time we teach ourselves to win we take an important step in the right direction. We will work on correcting the mistakes we made in our first outing."

The current Atlantic-Sun Conference champions, the Fighting Camels, are led by All-American Josue Soto and by All-South Richard Jata who scored a total of 17 goals and ten assists combined in their regular season. Campbell University finished third in the Atlantic-Sun Conference earning a berth to the Conference Championship Tournament. They won the tournament by beating Jacksonville in a penalty shootout.

RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer is expected to use the same formula as the UNC-Greensboro match by trying out different lineups during the match. Fans can expect to see a similar starting lineup with Goalkeeper Chris McClellan, Defender David Stokes and Captain Frankie Sanfilippo as well as newcomers Forwards Martin Nuñez and Jacob Coggins who are all expected to start.

The Carolina RailHawks men's professional team kicks off its 2008 campaign at WakeMed Soccer Park with a highly-anticipated pre-season match against Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls on March 28th at 7:30 PM. The men's team home opener at WakeMed Soccer Park is on April 26th at 7:30 PM against the Charleston Battery. The newly-formed Carolina RailHawks women's team will have its home debut on May 16th at 7:30 pm against the Atlanta Silverbacks.
